Frequently asked questions

Do you pull the permits for my job?

Yes, every permit required is pulled on every job, every time. It is not optional and not negotiable. It protects your home, your insurance and your resale value. We manage the entire local permitting process with your municipality across Allegheny County.

How long does a roof replacement take?

A standard residential roof replacement usually takes 1 to 3 days depending on size, complexity and weather.

How long does siding take?

A standard residential siding replacement usually takes 4 to 7 days depending on the size of the home, weather and whether you are upgrading insulation underneath.

How long does a custom deck take?

Construction usually takes 1 to 2 weeks depending on size and complexity, though the full timeline from consultation to completion runs longer due to custom design mockups, material ordering and township permit approval wait times.

Are there any hidden fees?

No, however we have a wood clause in our contract. We cannot predict whether the wood beneath your roof or deck frame is rotted until tear down is complete. If rotted wood is discovered the charge per item is clearly stated in our wood clause. New material cannot be properly installed on rotted wood, it must be replaced.

I have gotten a cheaper quote, why does your estimate cost more?

A lower price almost always means a contractor is cutting corners where you cannot see it. Lower bids usually skip the full tear off, use cheap utility grade house wraps or hire untrained subcontractors. Our price reflects a complete structural inspection, premium moisture barriers, trained installers and a workmanship warranty.

What warranty do you offer?

We warranty our workmanship for 10 years, plus the manufacturer warranty on the product you choose which varies by product.

What brands do you install?

For roofing we install Owens Corning shingles, DaVinci synthetic slate and metal roofing systems. For siding we highly recommend Mastic vinyl, and we also install fiber cement, metal and composite. For decking we install Trex composite and TimberTech AZEK PVC with railing systems from Trex, TimberTech and DekPro.

What does cleanup look like?

We drape heavy duty tarps and set catch alls around the home during the work, and finish with an intensive ground cleanup using magnetic sweeps to catch stray nails across the yard, gardens and driveway.

Who will actually be at my house?

Every job is assigned a project manager who is present from start to finish, and Dennis and Melissa maintain hands on oversight of the work rather than handing your project to an anonymous third party crew.

Who gives me my estimate?

The owners, Dennis and Melissa, not a commissioned salesperson.
